Katell is vice president of communications for Entergy, the owner and operator of Indian Point, and four other nuclear power plants.

A former senior vice president at GE Energy Financial Services, the company’s energy investing business, Katell handled communications for GE’s equity investments in power projects.

Noting that Entergy is one of ArtsWestchester’s largest corporate donors, Lansam said Katell will “play a key leadership role” in the council’s marketing efforts.

Katell’s “expertise in communications, marketing and media relations” will help the council “raise awareness of the value of the arts in Westchester and help build arts audiences for the future of our cultural industry,” she said.

A native of Westchester and a jazz aficionado, Katell graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in broadcast journalism and Russian language and culture. He also studied Russian at Leningrad State University and Middlebury College.

Katell also is a member of the Overseas Press Club and an avid long-distance road bicyclist.
