YONKERS, N.Y. -- 21st Century Oncology has announced that board certified breast surgeon Dr. Nidhi Sahgal has joined the practice in Yonkers.
A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and breast cancer specialist, Sahgal will be caring for patients at 21st Century Oncology’s affiliate location in Yonkers. Saghal has more than 12 years treating patients in Westchester County and is "one of Yonkers most well respected breast specialists," according to a press release.
Sahgal's practice is dedicated exclusively to breast diseases.
“We proudly welcome Dr. Sahgal to the 21st Century Oncology of New York practice network,” said Dr. Alfred Tinger, board certified radiation oncologist and medical director of 21st Century Oncology of New York. “Her empathy for her patients and her ability to perform the most skilled and minimal surgery possible has earned her an extraordinary reputation among her patients. She will continue to be a great asset to our community through the 21st Century Oncology Network.”
Sahgal earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. After a residency in General Surgery, Sahgal completed the prestigious fellowship in Breast Surgery at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif.
"She is trained to utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat breast cancer, reducing recovery time and stress on the patient's body," representatives said. "She is a cancer liaison physician for the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons."
Sahgal's practice is at 970 N. Broadway, Suite 111 in Yonkers.
