James Murphy passed out on a basketball court on Easter Sunday 2013 and had to be revived using CPR and an automated external defibrillator by Yonkers police. He has since made a full recovery in what has locally been dubbed "the Easter Miracle."
"Technology and rapid response by our first responders proved to be the key in this life saving incident," a Westchester Medical Center spokesperson said in a statement. "Through this experience, members of the Yonkers Police Department and James Murphy have established a great friendship that continues to this day. Great job by all involved and it was great to spend some time with our friend James Murphy, a true survivor."
