The groups will soon be busy collecting donations from Bed Bath & Beyond, Target and Amazon that will help outfit more than two dozen at-risk graduating seniors with everything needed to kick start their college careers.

Items collected and distributed include blankets, bedding, towels, stationary and other essentials needed in a dorm room. The Dorm Room Drive will continue through Monday, May 9. The registry can be found online, or in store by using the registry number 543136673 under the first name JL Bronxville and last name Dorm Drive.

According to league member Rosalia Nocerino, this is the fourth year the organizations have teamed up to help send students to college that have been deemed “at-risk.” Many of the students are the first in their family to go to college, and some are the first simply to graduate high school.

Each of the students are a part of the YPIE’s college preparatory program, which provides participants with the tools and tutoring necessary to embark on their college careers.
