Yonkers' Sarah Lawrence Closes Successful Season Of River Explorers

YONKERS, N.Y. – CURB (Center for the Urban River at Beczak) at Sarah Lawrence College recently wrapped up another successful season of River Explorers: Hands-On Nature Programs for Curious Kids.

Programs took place each Saturday with nature-based activities and crafts in the morning, as well as family seining - fishing with a net - each afternoon. Along with the weekly programs, special activities took place during events such as the Yonkers Fourth of July Celebration and Yonkers Riverfest.

River Explorers free programs were made possible with the support of the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation and Con Edison.

CURB thanks the hundreds of families who took part in River Explorers, many of which participated over several weekends, the volunteer crew and educator Kirsten Craig.
