Gisonde will be honoring his father’s 14th year of remission by walking in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday, Sept. 27, as the Jimmy Fund celebrates 27 years of fundraising for cancer research and development. Gisonde continues to travel over 400 miles each year to participate in the annual Jimmy Fund Walk to not only raise money for adult and pediatric patient care, but as a member of the team James’ Gang.

The team was created over nine years ago when Gisonde participated in his first Jimmy Fund Walk and realized the impact that events such as this have on everyone. The entire team continues to walk for the 10th time not only to honor James Gisonde’s many years of cancer remission, but because of the impact this fundraiser has on cancer research and development for adults and children everywhere.

The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk is the nation’s largest one-day fundraiser. This year, James' Gang is expected to walk alongside roughly 8,500 other participants, all walking for the same cause. For Matt Gisonde, this walk celebrates yet another year that he will be able to spend together with his father.
