Yonkers Police Ask Residents: 'How Are We Doing?"

YONKERS, N.Y. -- In an effort to improve their service to the community and to gain meaningful feedback, the Yonkers Police Department is conducting a Public Opinion Survey beginning Friday and ending on August 25.

All residents of Yonkers and members of the public who have had contact or interaction with the department are invited and encouraged to take the survey, said Officer Dean Politopoulos.

The responses will be used to help the department build mutual respect and trusting relationships with the public we serve, he added.

The survey is quick and easy to complete with such questions as "How were you treated during an interaction with the police," and "Do you think the department treats residents fairly," etc. 

To take the survey -- available in English and Spanish -- visit yonkerspolicesurvey.com. Those without internet access can call 800-634-1679 to take the survey over the telephone, or pick up a paper survey at the following precincts:

  • 1st Precinct – 730 East Grassy Sprain Road
  • 2nd Precinct – 441 Central Park Avenue
  • 3rd Precinct – 435 Riverdale Avenue
  • 4th Precinct – 53 Shonnard Place
  • Records Division – 104 South Broadway, 2nd Floor (Police Headquarters)
  • Community Affairs – 36 Radford Street

Completed paper surveys – sealed within the provided security envelope – can be returned to any of the above locations.
