YONKERS, N.Y. – A young Yonkers performer will appear in the Random Farm Kids’ production of “Legally Blonde” at the Tarrytown Music Hall later this month.
Grace Smyth, 12, is one of the dozens of teens and young adults from around the tri-state area who will be featured in the musical, which is based on the 2001 blockbuster film.
"Legally Blonde" is a singing, dancing, hair styling, jump-roping, cheerleading, crime-stopping extravaganza," said director Alexis Grausz of the Random Farms Kids' Theater. "Our performances feature amazing performers who have been working tirelessly."
"Legally Blonde" the movie, starring Reese Witherspoon, became a Broadway hit in 2007 after MTV aired a reality show competition seeking a new star to play Elle Woods, the Malibu sorority girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School.
A year later, the show was nominated for seven Tony Awards and is currently being performed around the world.
In Tarrytown, performances will begin on Jan. 26 and continue through Feb. 3. More than 130 young people from the Random Farms Kids' Theater will take to the stage in four different casts.
Tickets for "Legally Blonde" are $18 for adults, $16 for students and seniors and $14 for groups of 20 or more. Premium seats, the first four rows of center orchestra, are $23. To reserve tickets, go to the Tarrytown Music Hall website or call TicketForce at 877-840-0457.
