The Ossining resident celebrated her 113th birthday at Victoria Home on North Malcom Street in Ossining. Feng was born on May 12, 1902 in Shanghai.

The world's oldest person is 115-year-old Jeralean Talley of Michigan, according to TIME Magazine.

Feng was surrounded by three of her sons at the birthday party which featured a proclamation from Assemblywoman Sandy Galef and a cake.

Raised in China, Feng lived through World War II and the Chinese Civil War. The mother of nine lost two of her children during the Chinese Civil War and she moved to Queens in the 1950s where she opened a Chinese restaurant with her husband.

"She's taken such great care of our family, it's about time we celebrated her birthday," Dr. George Feng, her son, said.

Feng slept through her birthday ceremony, though aside from high blood pressure, she is in relatively good health. George said she never eats red meat and never smoked and eats lots of vegetables.

"She was a heavy coffee drinker," George Feng said. "She used to drink three cups a day."

George, and two of his brothers, Joe and Tom, visit Feng everyday.

"I can talk to her sometimes," George Feng said. "She likes to sing songs."

George said she is very respected in their family.

"She never gets into arguments or father," George said. "She's always been  happy and optimistic."

Feng's husband died at 54 and George said he has used his parents as examples of what to do and what not to do to live a long life.

Melissa Maute, the activities director at Victoria Home, said Victoria Home has a 105-year-old as well as two people older than 100. She praised Feng's sons for being so dedicated to her. She said she finds Feng inspiring.

"Sometimes she'll just burst out singing," Maute said. "She likes massages."

Victoria Home will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year.
