This week, Habitat for Humanity CEO Jim Killoran and his team of volunteers will welcome the dog days of summer with an orientation to kick off the organization’s “Summer of Volunteering.”
According to Habitat, their mission is to “provide safe, quality, affordable and green housing for lower-income families and individuals.” They accept and distribute lightly used goods to families in need and have built dozens of houses in southern Westchester to benefit all Sound Shore residents. Last month, they helped temporarily house a family that lost their home during a fatal fire.
The orientation for the Summer of Volunteering will kick off at 6 p.m. on Monday at Habitat Headquarters at 659 Main St. in New Rochelle. Those with questions can contact Killoran at (914) 636-8335, ext. 101.
