Yonkers Offers Festive Cocktails To Put You In Good Spirits

YONKERS, N.Y. -- ‘Tis the season of giving, and, as part of that, the City of Yonkers is offering a series of festive cocktails (and recipes) from some of the area's top restaurants.

The promotion, which includes a sweepstakes, is part of a GenY campaign launched earlier this year. Enter your email information before Jan. 5 and you can win dinner for two at a participating restaurant. In the meantime, let one of the following drinks inspire you to eat, drink, and be merry.

Snow on the Beach from X20, Xaviers on the Hudson

  • 2 oz Slovenia Vodka
  • 1 oz John Taylor’s Velvet Falernum
  • ½ oz Blood Orange Juice
  • ¼ oz Lime Juice
  • ¼ oz White Crème de Menthe
  • ¼ oz Black Sambuca

Assemble all ingredients in glass shaker then shake over ice. Strain into rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with Blood Orange Wheel, Sprig of Mint and Candy Cane.

Candy Mint Crush from Dolphin

  • 3 oz 3 Olives Vanilla Vodka
  • 1.5 oz Godiva White Chocolate Liquer
  • 2 oz Creme de Menthe

Serve with candy cane garnish.

SOYO Stormy, SOYO

  • 2 oz Rum Blanco
  • 2 oz Ginger beer
  • 1 Half of fresh squeezed lime

Drizzle pure molasses over ice in rocks glass. Garnish with lime wedge. Bourbon Holiday, SOYO

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz Amaretto
  • 1 oz Simple syrup
  • 2 oz Club soda

Garnish with dried cranberries. Peppermint Frost, SOYO 2 oz Vodka 1 oz Vanilla simple syrup 1 oz Cream 2 oz Soda Rim martini glass with crushed peppermint; garnish with fresh mint leaves.
