The parade will be on McLean Avenue on Saturday, March 21. "It's quite an honor to be chosen to serve as Grand Marshal," said Rooney. "With our family's Irish heritage and long association with the city of Yonkers, it will be a special day for me and the entire Rooney Family."

In 2014, the South Broadway St. Patrick’s Day Parade merged with the McLean Avenue Merchants' Association St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This combination began a new era for Yonkers in honoring its Irish heritage, contributions and Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland and of the Archdiocese of New York. The official installation of Rooney as Grand Marshal as well as the Aides for the 2015 Parade will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at a gala celebration of the “Changing of the Sash,” in the Good Time Room at the Empire City Casino, 810 Yonkers Ave.

The parade will be underway on March 21, following a Mass at St. Barnabas High School Chapel on McLean Avenue, when marchers step off at 1 p.m. on McLean Avenue west of Bronx River Road. Rooney Jr. is the son of casino and raceway president and CEO Timothy J. Rooney, Sr.
