TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – New Year's Eve means plenty of holiday parties.
Almost 10,000 people are killed each year in drunk-driving crashes, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Plan for a safe drive home from a New Year's Eve party with these tips from MADD:
“New Year’s Day is the most dangerous day of the year for drunk driving on our nation’s roadways,” MADD said in a statement. “Let’s work together to make this holiday, and every day, safe for everyone traveling.”
MADD encourages people to designate a sober driver to make sure everyone gets home safely, hire a taxi or limousine service to drive everyone home or arrange a hotel room so no one drives home.
