How Long in Business: November 2009 but the family-owned business has been in operation, starting in New Haven, Conn. since 1925. (The pizzeria is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.)
Known For: The white clam pie (it was voted "Best Pizza in America" by The Daily Meal in 2013-2014).
Most Popular Slice Sold: No slices, just pies with the white clam pie consistenly ranking high. A spokesperson say all are popular and it's "too hard to be more definitive."
Key to Success: "Pepe's follows the exact recipes as our grandfather did. We also use the best quality ingredients imported from Italy," according to Gary Bimonte, Frank Pepe's grandson. The business is run by Frank Pepe's seven grandchildren in partnership with Frank Pepes Development Co. LLC.
