Here’s the story of one local organization that will be raising funds on May 3-4.
Children Find Independence with Cerebral Palsy of Westchester’s help
For 7-year-old Yosuf and his 10-year-old brother Sultan, the school program at Cerebral Palsy of Westchester has been a place of promise, friendship and possibilities. The boys, who receive occupational, physical and speech therapies at the school, have made tremendous progress. In less than a year, Yosuf, who could not walk, is taking steps on his own and his brother Sultan is learning new words each day and using more sign language to communicate.
“They are wonderful students," said CPW Special Education Teacher, Rachel Mandel. "Their parents are supportive and thankful to the school program and clinical team for all that the boys have accomplished.”
CPW helps people realize their goals, build brighter futures, and lead more independent lives as members of their community, she said.
