40 Cycles Given Award At Mayor Mike's Bike Drive

YONKERS, N.Y. -- This week some 40 Yonkers children and teens received a shiny bicycle, just in time for school, thanks to Mayor Mike Spano's annual bike drive.

Some 40 Yonkers children received free bikes during the mayor's annual bike giveaway to those in need.

The bikes, all donated and then cleaned up and put in tip-top working order thanks to Danny at County Cycle Center, were presented to those in need in the Cottage, School Street, and Schlobohm communities in Yonkers.

The event is put together by Yonkers Police Officer Laura Mulligan with the help from the Yonkers Municipal Housing Authority, and the Cycle Center.

Since the mayor took office, more than 100 bikes have been donated and distributed through "Mayor Mike's Bike Drive" and the hard work of the Yonkers Police Department.
