Yonkers Steps Out For St. Patrick's Day Parade Saturday

YONKERS, N.Y. -- St. Patrick's Day festivities aren't quite over yet -- the city of Yonkers will celebrate the holiday with its 59th annual parade on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m.

Before the parade there will be Pancake Breakfast sponsored by St. Barnabas & the AOH at St. Barnabas High School Cafeteria from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. and a Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at St. Barnabas Church at 11 a.m.

The parade will kick off on McLean Avenue near Bronx River Road at 1 p.m., marching west on McLean Avenue to Coyne Park. Spectators will have many great viewing points along McLean Avenue.

The parade will be lead by the 2014 Grand Marshal, Reverend Thomas Collins, President of Stepinac High School and his aides: Seamus Clarke, Agnes Delaney, Scott Griffith, Kevin Hartnett, Thomas Hewitt, William Mooney, Allison Mosher Burke, and  Nuala Purcell.

Complimentary shuttles and parking from the Yonkers Avenue parking lot of Empire City Casino from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. to McLean Avenue is available to all parade marchers and spectators.

Shuttles will start running at 9 a.m. and drop off at Woodlawn & McLean Avenues until 12:30 p.m. After that the shuttles will run continuously from the corner of Hillview & Kimball Avenues, one block up from McLean Avenue until 5 p.m.
