Yonkers Riverfront Library Features '14 Smiles' Exhibit

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A multimedia exhibit featuring the artwork of Marie Brooks, “14 SMILES,” will be on display Aug. 4-29 in the atrium at the Riverfront Library. The works include drawings, photos and sculptures.

Brooks formerly lived in Washington D.C., and moved to New York in 1981, when another artist on the Atlantic City boardwalk created a portrait of her. That portrait will be part of this exhibition, as Brooks has a vague smile in the portrait, and that goes along with the theme of the other works, which Brooks made between 1981 and 2014.

The Riverfront Library is at 1 Larkin Center. It is handicapped-accessible, and those who wish to attend may park in the Buena Vista or Warburton parking garages. For more information, call Susan Thaler, branch administrator, at 914-337-1500, ext. 432, or visit the website at www.ypl.org.
