"This show was inspired by the memory of my uncle Gary, who died from AIDS,” said Curtis. “All my life I was told that I remind people so much of him; but, I never knew what that really meant. I wrote this story as my chance to get to know the man that I reminded so many people of.”
"Like Peeling an Onion" follows recently deceased assistant principal David Greene and how his family has more questions about his life than his death after packing up his possessions.
Proceeds will benefit the Family Services of Westchester's Camp Viva, a year-round program for children and families affected by HIV and AIDS.
"Like Peeling an Onion" will premiere at the Rev. Shelton E. Doles Center Theater at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.
Tickets are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
