The ceremony will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains. The event begins at 7:45 a.m. with a Latino Leaders Breakfast followed by the time capsule ceremony at 8:45.
The Boy Scouts program will be added to three schools in Port Chester this fall as part of the Carver Center after-school program.
The goal is to support 350 Latino boys and help them become leaders and role models in their community.The ceremony, as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month, will celebrate people who have made a difference in the Latino Community.
The time capsule ceremony will create a space where the Boy Scouts, parents, schools and the community will come together and show the commitment to support these 350 children for 10 years until they become Eagle Scouts.
Cub Scouting is available to boys in grades 1-5. Activities include weekend and summer camping, field trips and fun activities. Benefits of Scouting include character development, team building and personal fitness.
