YONKERS, N.Y. – From outdoor concerts to optical art, here’s what’s happening around Yonkers this weekend. Check out our events page for more listings. 

Friday, Aug. 17

Jazz and Blues at Dusk: 6:30 p.m. The summer concert series continues with Hollywood’s “The Tizer Trio.” Yonkers Amphitheatre, end of Main Street.

Free Friday Nights: 5 p.m. Free admission to the Hudson River Museum and free planetarium show at 7 p.m. Inside you can enjoy exhibits such as “Gilded Age Magic” and “Westchester Women & War: Portraits.” Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Ave.

Jazz at the Hudson River Museum: 6:30 p.m. Looking for a little more jazz in your weekends? Check out “Ralph Lalama/Harvie S. Quintet featuring Nicole Pasternak,” in the final week of Jazz concerts at the Hudson River Museum. Courtyard, Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Ave.

Saturday, Aug. 18

Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick at Yonkers Public Library: 11 a.m. Join the City Council President at the Yonkers Public Library for Family Health and Wellness Day. Yonkers Public Library, Riverfront Branch, 1 Larkin Center.  

Urban H2O: James B. Dukehouse and Carolann Solebello: 7 p.m. Two bands will share the stage in an evening mix of Americana, Folk, Roots and Rock. Tickets are $10 and include free beer from the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. Beczak Environmental Education Center, 35 Alexander St.

WorldFest 2012: 7:30 p.m. Untermyer Park’s music and dance journey around the world continues with a performance of “An Evening of Italian Culture featuring Adesso.” Special performance by Yonkers Idol winner Alexis Newman and Yonkers Junior Idol Katyajini Ghosh Lisbin. Admission is free. Bring your own seat. Untermyer Park, 945 N. Broadway.

Saturday Movies at Your Library: 2 p.m. Enjoy a free showing of “The Woman in Black,” a story of a young lawyer who travels to a remote village where he discovers a vengeful ghost. Yonkers Public Library, Riverfront Branch, 1 Larkin Center.

Sunday, Aug. 19

Art and Science Sundays: Magnetic Attraction: Noon. The Science Barge’s summer activity calendar continues with “Magnetic Attraction.” Science Barge, 99 Dock St. 

Don’t Believe Your Eyes: 1 p.m. Head to the museum for creative activities for families based on the museum’s exhibitions. On Sunday, trick your eyes with optical art. Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Ave.

Otis Day and The Knights Live in Concert: 6:30 p.m. The Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway’s summer concert series continues with a trackside performance by “Otis Day and The Knights,” the self-proclaimed No. 1 Party Band in America. Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway, 810 Yonkers Ave.
