Second Annual Yonkers Downtown BID International Restaurant Week : All day: The Business Improvement District’s International Restaurant Week is back. Visitors can choose from nine restaurants in the city’s downtown, with options ranging from Italian cuisine to Mexican, Cuban to Japanese. All will offer 20 percent off lunch and 25 percent off dinner specials.
True Light Revealed: A Free Film Series for Black History Month : 4:30 p.m. The Yonkers’ Public Library’s free film series for Black History Month begins. A series of powerful films will be shown throughout the month that tell the stories and experiences of blacks after slavery. On Thursday, “Birth of A Nation” will be screened. The 1915 silent drama was an inflammatory film of its time depicting the relationship of two families in Civil War and Reconstruction-era America. Student Financial Aid Forum : 6 p.m. State Sen. George Latimer and Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer will host a student aid forum, where prospective students and their families can learn about student debt, as well as state and federal loan information.
