YONKERS, N.Y. -- As Cross County Shopping Center celebrates its 60th Anniversary, a lineup of events for SummerFest 2014 will continue through the rest of July into August at the mall.

Here is a rundown of upcoming events:

The Benjamins will perform on Wednesday, July 30 and Almost Journey will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Before each band performance, families can arrive early to enjoy a meet and greet hour with classic characters from Mickey Mouse, Sesame Street, Super Heroes and more.

Throughout the rest of July and into August, Friday Fun Days will keep children entertained. At each event, children under the age of 12 will enjoy a free interactive musical show, plus an arts and crafts activity on The Green on Friday, July 25, Friday, Aug. 8 and Friday, Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. To register children, call 914-968-9571 or email Dena Boyle at dena.boyle@macerich.com.

The Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival on Saturday, Aug. 2, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will provide an opportunity for the community to see amazing works of art created in chalk by both professional and amateur artists. The theme of the festival is the “1950s” in honor of the mall’s 60th Anniversary.

During this event, children can visit Kid’s Zone from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for free art activities such as sand art, spin art and more. Children will also be invited to draw in chalk throughout the center. At the end of the day, guests will vote for their favorite chalk art display and three more artists will be awarded prizes up to $500. Receive an artist application by visiting the center’s website or calling the management office at 914-968-9571.

Following the Kid’s Zone and Chalk Fest, families can enjoy a concert with the NYC Swing Band, which will perform on the SummerFest Concert Stage from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
