YONKERS, N.Y. -- The streets of the hilly city will be packed with cyclists and onlookers for the Tour de Yonkers.
The race, which is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21, has three distances: 12, 25 and 40 miles. All races will begin and end at the Beczak Environmental Education Center at 35 Alexander St., where refreshments will be served.
Registration is $35 until Sept. 1 and $40 thereafter. Registration on race day is $45. The first 100 registrants will also receive a commemorative T-shirt.
Riders are asked to make sure their bikes are in good working condition and are encouraged to bring a spare tube, pump and patch repair kit. Riders are also required to wear a helmet.
