Parade Launches Holidays At Yonkers' Cross Country Shopping Center

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Kick off the holiday season with Cross Country Shopping Center's first annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Yonkers.Enjoy seeing marching bands, schools, dance groups, floats, holiday characters and more in the parade.

The parade will stroll down Xavier Drive, from Old Navy to Boston Market. It will be followed by a countdown to the lighting of a 40-foot tall Christmas tree and then a fireworks display -- Weschester's only winter fireworks display.

Here's the schedule for the holiday event:

Parade begins at 6:30 p.m.
Tree lighting ceremony takes place at 8 p.m.
Watch the fireworks display from the north parking lot at 8:15 pm.

There will also be a visit from Santa and Miss New York.
