“Our clubs, which span from Raritan Bay to Poughkeepsie, give families a great a way to be on the water, provide critical river access, and offer a pathway to boat ownership,” said HRBYCA President Scott Croft. “There is a spirit of volunteerism as our clubs do most of their own maintenance and upkeep. We offer affordable options for those who just want to try a club out. Many clubs offer Associate memberships for those without a boat that make it easy to spend the summer by the river.”
While all 31 Hudson River Boat & Yacht Club Association clubs are open to visits from the public throughout the year, the following eight clubs will offer free soda and hot dogs at the Open House Event and encourage anyone interested to stop by and learn more about being a member and what the club has to offer:
- Chelsea Yacht Club, Chelsea
- Marlboro Yacht Club, Marlboro
- Garrison Yacht Club, Garrison
- Minisceongo Yacht Club, Stony Point
- Hook Mountain Yacht Club, Nyack
- Shattemuc Yacht Club, Ossining
- Ossining Boat & Canoe Club, Ossining
- Yonkers Yacht Club, Yonkers
If you don’t have time on May 9, you can check out and visit a boat or yacht club on any Saturday morning from now through May, when most clubs have work parties and plenty of folks to answer questions. For a list of HRBYCA member clubs go to http://www.hudsonriverbyca.com/roster.htm.
