St. Augustine’s Church in Larchmont will hold its fourth annual Walk for Homes in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity of Westchester. Beginning at 1 p.m. in Larchmont, participants will walk from Constitution Park to Manor Park and back, totaling two miles.

The 2014 walk raised $5,000 and Habitat along with St. Augustine’s church is looking to triple that number in 2015. Everyone participating in the event will be asked to find pledges from family, friends or co-workers to help reach the goal of $15,000.

Jim Killoran, Habitat for Humanity of Westchester chief executive officer, will be walking from Yonkers to Larchmont to spread his message for the need of affordable housing across the county. With this walk, Habitat for Humanity will be looking to at least purchase the windows for the next home built for a local veteran.

To help raise the money, those participating should ask friends, family and others willing to help for pledges for their walk. For those who would like to help but are unable to walk, donations can be sent to the Habitat for Humanity of Wetchester at 659 Main St., New Rochelle, NY 10801 or to St. Augustine’s Church at 18 Cherry Ave.,, Larchmont, NY 10538.

In conjunction with the walk, Habitat for Humanity of Westchester has set up a GoFundMe campaign. Click here for more information.
