Patricia Ann McGowan Of Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Patricia A. McGowan died March 10, 2016. She was a longtime Ridgewood resident.

She married her loving husband, Michael in 1974. She raised three children, Brian Michael and his wife Amelia, Christopher Joseph and his wife Brienne, and Trisha Erin.

She also is survived by her grandchildren, Makenna and Cameron McGowan; brothers, Richard Tuliszewski and his wife Theresa, Robert Tuliszewski and his wife Kelly and Larry and his wife Carmella; sisters-in-law, Karen Rose, Patricia McManus and her husband Paul,and Coleen Lillie; and mother-in-law Dorothe R. McGowan.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

McGowan graduated from Trenton State College with a bachelor’s degree in education. She received her master’s degree in education from William Paterson University. She taught second grade in the Neshaminy, Pa. school district and also taught as a reading specialist in the Fairlawn School District. She also was a seventh-grade teacher in the Paterson School District.

Later in life, she changed careers and studied at the Valley Hospital to become an X-ray technician. She most recently was employed at University Imaging at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wayne and volunteered for their breast cancer awareness program.

Friends may gather from 4-6 p.m. Monday at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave, Ridgewood, where a memorial service will take place at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Kylee’s Dancing Angels (kyleesdancingangels.com), P.O. Box 60, Baldwin, MD 21013.
