Multiple electrical switches in the building were unable to reset during a power surge, which prevented the school from opening the following day, Stratford Star reported.

The Town Council is expected to vote on measures approving the cost of renovation and the bonding of $65 million to help pay for the town's share of the expense at its March 14 meeting, said Stratford Star.

A plan for the long-awaited renovation project has a proposed cost of $125.9 million, Stratford Star reported.
