A 40-year-old female clerk at the Seven Days convenience mart in the 700 block of Boulevard handed over cigarettes and an undetermined amount of cash after the dark-skinned robber came in wearing a cycle helmet and pointed a gun at her, Detective Capt. Brian DiPasquale told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

He then fled west on Route 46, the captain said.

The robber was described as in his late 20s or early 30s and wearing a blue and white buttoned-down shirt that he apparently discarded as he fled. At that point, he had on a t-shirt and jeans, authorities said.

Authorities thought they might have had him this afternoon after a Saddle Brook patrol officer chased and stopped another speeding motorcycle on Route 46 in Clifton.
