Ruth Sprague, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Ruth Louise Reichhard Sprague died Sept. 29.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1923, in New York City. 

She graduated from Elmira College in 1946 with a degree in economics. She was employed by Union Carbide in New York City. 

She married Richard Sprague at her family's home in Larchmont, N.Y. on April 23, 1949. 

Besides her husband, she leaves five surviving children, 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two brothers. 

Following marriage, she resided in New York City, NY; Bogota, Colombia; Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., Santiago de Cuba; Caracas, Venezuela; Houston, Texas and Stamford.

In Stamford, she was active in volunteering at Roxbury Elementary School, St. Leo's Catholic Church and Literacy Volunteer of America. 

There will be no funeral service as she donated her body to the Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston Salem, N.C.
