Hammerman is resigning this summer from Temple Beth Shalom to take on the rabbinate at the Jewish Community Center of Harrison where he will become Congresswoman Lowey’s rabbi.
After the opening prayer, Hammerman visited Lowey’s Washington, D.C. office where she welcomed him to New York’s 17th Congressional District.
“It was a pleasure meeting Rabbi Hammerman and his family during his visit to Washington to give the opening prayer, and I extend a warm welcome him on behalf of the Harrison community,” Lowey said.
