Norwalk Boys Cruise to Win Over Warde, 66-51

NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk High boys basketball team finally got to show off the depth of its shooters on Tuesday. After a tough loss to Trinity Catholic on Friday, the Bears rebounded in a big way. Four different Norwalk players racked up double-digit points against Fairfield Warde as the Bears led from wire to wire for a 66-51 victory.

After leading 30-22 at halftime, the Bears kicked it into high gear in the third. Ra’von Shular caught fire, scoring 11 of his game-high 19 points in the third. Norwalk pulled away with 22 points in the quarter.

Shular dueled in the third with Warde’s Michael Wright, who also dropped 11 in the quarter. Wright finished with 18 points for Warde, but Norwalk held the rest of the Mustangs in check. Warde pulled within 21-20 in the second quarter, but Norwalk never relinquished the lead.

Rasheen Thomson also had a big night with 15 points. Saeed Soulemane netted 12, followed by Jabari Dear with 10. Delshawn Wilson came off the bench to contribute eight points.

Norwalk (2-1) plays against Bunnell in the Masuk Holiday Tournament on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
