Plenty of Fun Offered in the Villages This Weekend

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Does a summer lull have you bored at home? Well this weekend should help give you a boost because there's plenty to do in the villages over the next few days.

On Friday the Dobbs Ferry Farmers Market is back from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Come out to Cedar Street and pick up some of the freshest produces around.

The Hastings Farmers Market is on Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Maple Ave in front of the Municipal building. Come browse the selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and more.

Also on Saturday, Roots & Wings presents the Local Foraging for Food and Medicine Workshop in Dobbs Ferry from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The workshop will touch on wild and cultivated plants that you can use for health and for healing. Clinical herbalist Dina Falconi, who authored "Earthy Bodies & Heavenly Hair: Natural and Healthy Personal Care for Everybody," will lead the workshop. Tickets are $30 in advance and $45 at the door.

Hastings Velo will be having a Tour de France party Saturday night at 6 p.m. Wine and cheese will be served during the TV coverage of the cyclists stage in the Pyrennes.

Drive over to Ardsley on Saturday night as Ardsley's Billy Watson and Raising Kane will be playing a free summer concert at Ashford Park from 7-9 p.m.

On Sunday, the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct will lead a walk through interconnected suburban parks, including Rowley's Bridge, Old Croton Aqueduct, Lenoir Preserve and others. All who wish to participate can meet in the northbound commuter lot of the Hastings MetroNorth station at 12 p.m.

The Chemka Pool will also be open all weekend to help locals get out of the heat. Click here for hours this weekend.
