Crookston, who lives in Ithaca, will be at Urban H2O with his music partner, Peter Glanville. His record “Able Baker Charlie & Dog” was awarded “Album of the Year” by the International Folk Alliance in Memphis.

Crookston said his music is inspired by everything from troubled teens to Robert Frost.

"My shows are high energy, very rhythmic, musical, fun and yet I’m really into a good story," he said. "For me, a successful concert is where people hoot and holler, listen intently and ride the wave of hilarity and sacred all within the time we spend together. Some of it is very haunting and serious, and some will crack you up."

Tickets are $10 at the door and include a free Microbrew beer provided by Captain Lawrence Brewing Company. For more information, call Mark Miller at 914-377-1900.
