“Although Earth Day is April 22, we believe that enhancing our city’s environment shouldn’t be limited to just one day,” said Daniel Lipka, executive director of the BID.

Earth Week activities include environmental cleanups and beautification projects (involving people from throughout the county), walking tours, plantings, educational activities at the Yonkers Science Barge and Beczak, and family entertainment.

Partners in these efforts include Groundwork Hudson Valley, the Sarah Lawrence Center for the Urban River, the Clearwater, the City of Yonkers and many others.
