
Jim Killoran
Community AdvisorJim Killoran has been with Habitat for Humanity for more than 25 years, serving on Boards of Directors in various organizations in the tri-state area. He is a member of the Yonkers Charter School of Excellence and treasurer of the board. He is also a member of the Mount Vernon Amani Charter School Board. He became Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Westchester in 2000. He has worked extensively with the homeless and with issues of low-income housing, and strongly believes that Habitat for Humanity is a real and viable solution for ending poverty, especially during this time in history. Jim ahs worked to involve faith communities, municipalities, schools, universities, businesses and individuals in the struggle for decent housing. Prior to Habitat, Jim worked at start up five mental health programs in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. In addition to the 50 homes completed and 130 flood rehabs completed during the floods of 2007, Jim has brought Habitat groups to northern Ireland, Mexico, El Salvador, New Orleans and California to build. Habitat now has more than 10,000 volunteers a year on its sites in Westchester alone and internationally is in the top 14 homebuilders in the world today. He has been the recipient of several awards for his work.
