CVS Outbids Key Food for A&P's Nepperhan Avenue Store In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- A&P, which filed for bankruptcy in July and intends to go out of business, has sold its Nepperhan Avenue store to CVS atan auction  last week, according to a story on lohud.com.

The pharmacy/retailer offered the highest yet-to-be-disclosed price for the supermarket, beating out Key Food Stores, lohud.com said.

The deal is far from done, giving Yonkers residents a glimmer of hope their neighborhood supermarket could continue to primarily sell groceries, lohud.com said.

Sale of the store to CVS is subject to the approval of a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge, who is expected to rule on the matter Oct. 16, lohud.com said.
