CEO Of Westchester Business Association Named To Greater Hudson Bank Board

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Greater Hudson Bank, a local community bank servicing the Hudson Valley region, recently announced it named William M. Mooney Jr., of White Plains, to its board of directors.

He currently serves as chief executive officer of The Westchester County Association. The community bank has offices in Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties and serves the Hudson Valley market.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Bill to our team, said Kenneth Torsoe, chairman of the board of Greater Hudson Bank, in a press release. "His addition to the Greater Hudson Bank Board of Directors is a significant accomplishment as he will provide helpful insight in strategic business opportunities as well as bringing knowledgeable banking expertise to our company. His strong leadership skills, business acumen and banking background, as well as his expansive knowledge of the Hudson Valley, make him a great addition to the board.” 

Mooney has had a long and distinguished career in the banking industry, most recently at Independence Community Bank, where he was responsible for all business activities in Westchester County and Connecticut, according to a press release.

In 2004, Mooney was honored with The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which recognizes individuals for their exceptional humanitarian efforts and outstanding contributions to the nation, according to a press release.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Bill for years and am extremely excited to have him on our board," said Edward Lutz, the bank's president and CEO, in a press release. "The bank is committed to growing in the Hudson Valley, especially in Westchester County, and there is no better person to help us accomplish that goal than Bill.”
